Mbin Ndem — Forest of God
Forest
God
Together, Mbin Ndem means “Forest of God.”
“Mbin” means Forest and “Ndem” means God in the Nweh/Bangwa language. Together, Mbin Ndem means “Forest of God.”
The name reflects the identity of a place where the natural environment becomes a setting for peace, reflection, learning and meaningful human connection.
Mbin Ndem is intended to be more than land to be occupied or developed. It is a place where people can pause, reflect on life, strengthen relationships and consider their responsibility to themselves, their families and the wider world.
A Place for Peace in a Divided World
The founding vision of Mbin Ndem begins with a concern for the condition of the human family.
Conflict, broken relationships, division and competing beliefs can separate people from one another.
Mbin Ndem was conceived as a place where people can step away from those divisions and seek peace through reflection, learning, dialogue and renewed relationships.
The sanctuary places particular importance on the family as the foundation from which peace can extend outward — from the individual, to the family, to the community and ultimately to the wider world.

A Sanctuary for Reflection and Understanding
An open, grounded space inviting honest inquiry, spiritual depth, and mutual respect across every tradition.
Spirituality & Dialogue
The original Mbin Ndem vision describes the sanctuary as an indigenous faith-based focal point for spirituality, interreligious dialogue, harmony and peaceful coexistence.
Search for Truth
People of different backgrounds are invited to reflect, learn and search for truth while respecting the experiences and traditions of others without denominational exclusivity.
Inner & Practical Life
Mbin Ndem recognizes that human life has both spiritual and material dimensions. Its wider vision connects reflection with practical responsibilities in family life, work, community and care of the land.
Family Re-education and Orientation
“Family Re-education and Orientation Center”
From its earliest conception, Mbin Ndem Peace Sanctuary has carried this founding description. The idea is rooted in the belief that peaceful families are essential to peaceful communities and societies.
The sanctuary therefore creates space for people to think about relationships, character, responsibility, reconciliation, love, family and the kind of legacy they want to build.

A Family Vision
Mbin Ndem Peace Sanctuary and Mbin Ndem Farms were conceived within the Tazifor family as closely connected parts of one larger vision.
“The founding document describes them symbolically as ‘twin babies’ conceived in the heart of the family — different in purpose, yet deeply connected.”
This relationship is reflected in the Twin Rock at Mbin Ndem, one of the distinctive places within the sanctuary journey.
The Sanctuary and Farms continue to grow together: one nurturing reflection and peace, the other supporting practical work, agriculture and livelihoods.

The Twin Rock landmark inside the sanctuary reflects the founding ‘twin babies’ symbolism conceived in the Tazifor family, honoring the shared bond between quiet reflection and purposeful work on the land.

A Journey Through Twelve Endowments
The Peace Sanctuary is experienced through twelve distinct places known in the founding document as the Twelve Endowments at Mbin Ndem.
Each marks a different stage in the journey through the sanctuary, from Peace Road and the Bridge to the deeper forests, places of meditation and Mountain Forest Top.
Rooted in Buea
Mbin Ndem is located at Mile 14 (Dibanda), Buea, in Cameroon’s South West Region.
The tropical landscape is central to the experience of Mbin Ndem.
Forest, water, rocks, fertile land and changing terrain provide the physical setting for both the Peace Sanctuary and Mbin Ndem Farms.
This landscape is not simply a backdrop.
It is part of the Mbin Ndem story.
